James Halliday Australian Chardonnay & Cabernet Challenge Trophy
The trophy for Australia’s best regional Chardonnay.
The trophy for Australia’s best regional Cabernet Sauvignon.
Best of Region
The highest scoring wine from each region (only wines scoring ≥95 points will be eligible). All wines will receive a score out of 100, which can be used for marketing purposes.
Wine of Provenance
NEW to the Challenge in 2026, is the Wine of Provenance in Chardonnay and also Cabernet. An entry is a set of 3 vintages of the same label, covering a minimum spread of 8 vintages. Within the set, there must be a minimum 3 year spread between vintages.
Exhibitors shall comply with the Winemakers Federation of Australia (WFA) Code of Practice for the display of awards. A copy of the code can be found here: Awards Code of Practice.
